You should know that the name you were looking for is Ron Miller, not Ron Smith.
ReplyDeleteCountry Bear Jamboree was at Magic Kingdom on opening day, October 1, 1971. The initial creative work for the attraction was done before Walt died, to be an attraction at the Mineral King resort he was trying to build (that was later abandoned before Ron Miller was in charge). Since it was built before Magic Kingdom opened, it was built and put into operation while Roy O. Disney was still in charge.
I know people like to pile on Ron Miller, but let's try to only attribute things to him that really are his responsibility.
Good catch and thank you for making that point. I guess we should not pick on Ron Miller, it's mostly just the fact that there were quite a few dark days at Disney during his watch. I'm just glad that Roy and Stanley stepped in when they did and brought Michael and Frank in to get things turned around.
